What is the difference between wall cladding and wall panelling?Updated 3 months ago

The primary difference between wall cladding and wall panelling lies in their purpose and application.

Wall cladding typically refers to the process of covering the exterior walls of a building with a protective or decorative layer. This layer can be made from various materials such as wood, metal, stone, vinyl, or composite materials. The primary function of wall cladding is to provide protection against weather elements and enhance the exterior appearance of the building.

On the other hand, wall panelling refers to the installation of decorative panels on the interior walls of a building. These panels can be made from a wide range of materials including wood, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), or composite materials. Wall panelling serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, adding texture, warmth, and visual interest to interior spaces while also offering insulation and soundproofing benefits.

While wall cladding is primarily concerned with protecting and enhancing the exterior walls of a building, wall panelling focuses on enhancing the interior walls with decorative and functional panels.
