What Types of Ladder Hardware are available?Updated 8 months ago

Ladder Hardware Types

We offer either rolling or hook over ladder hardware, with an additional type which combines the two: hook rolling.

Rolling Hardware

Our fully rolling hardware enables the ladder to roll smoothly along the rail, this hardware means the ladder cannot be removed from the rail once installed.  Use our braking wheels at the bottom of the ladder with these 'top rollers'.  The rail must be fitted using 'roller rail brackets' to enable the rollers to pass the brackets when rolling the ladder.  We also offer corner rollers if you need the ladder to be rolled around a 90 degree internal corner - please contact us for more information on this hardware type.

Hook over Hardware

Our Top Hooks (also called Sliding Hook or Hook Over) do just that - hook safely and securely over the rail.  Simply lift the ladder off the rail when you wish to reposition it.  Use this hardware with our Non-Skid feet at the bottom of the ladder.  The rail for this type of hardware should be fitted using 'hook rail brackets'.

Rolling Hook Hardware

This hardware is a combination of the rolling and hook options above.  The single roller sits safely on the rail (it won't slip off when rolling) and the ladder can be rolled into position.  If you have multiple rails around your library or kitchen, you can lift the ladder off the rail and move it to the required rail.  This hardware can be used with either wheels or feet at the bottom of the ladder.

The rail for this type of hardware should be fitted using 'hook rail brackets'.

All of the above hardware types allow the ladder to be stored vertically against your cabinetry when not in use.  Simply 'walk' the ladder towards the rail and the ladder will smoothly slide upwards, to stand safely and neatly next to your shelves.
